The phenomenon of “ghostly sleep” is medically known as Sleep Paralysis. It is a sleep disorder that occurs during the rapid eye movement (REM) period, usually when a person falls asleep or wakes up.
During this period, a person may feel unable to move his/her body, breathe heavily, or even experience hallucinations. This phenomenon may be related to tension, anxiety, and stress in life, and is more common in adolescents and adults.
