Bedtime Procrastination is the behavior of delaying going to bed when you know you need and want enough sleep. One way of looking at it is that these people see the leisure of sacrificing sleep as compensation for stress, or “compensatory bedtime procrastination”.
Bedtime procrastination can lead to sleep deprivation, which in turn impairs thinking, memory and decision-making, and increases the risk of daytime sleepiness, mood swings, and even mental health problems such as depression and anxiety.
